Dream Factory I want to burn two CDs to make this double CD album. I found the tracklist:
Disk 1 Visions Dream Factory Train The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker It Strange Relationship Slow Love Starfish & Coffee Interlude I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man Sign O' The Times Crystal Ball A Place In Heaven Last Heart Witness 4 The Prosecution Movie Star The Cross All My Dreams Disk 2 It's A Wonderful Day Teacher,Teacher Sexual Suicide Power Fantastic In A Large Room With No Light A Place In heaven Witness 4 The Prosecution Crystal Ball Data Bank Girl O' My Dreams Can't Stop This Feeling I Got We Can Funk Big Tall Wall Is this correct? Dream Factory is just the first disc my friend. It was a double album because albums were shorter but it fits onto one cd.
As for versions...it might be tough to download them individually because some of them flow into each other and are specific for this project. | |

Yeah, Disc one is Dream Factory, disc two is just a
collection of outtakes from earlier configurations of the album. Dream Factory was a double album on vinyl not CD, here's the tracklist... side one: 1. Visions (2:11) 2. Dream Factory (2:37) - shorter than on CB 3. Train (4:17) 4. The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker (3:58 ) - same as on SOTT 5. It (5:05) - same as on SOTT side two: 1. Strange Relationship (4:24) - different version (not Camille) 2. Starfish & Coffee (2:45) - almost identical to SOTT 3. Slow Love (4:18 ) - same as on SOTT 4. I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (6:48 ) - longer version side three: 1. Sign O' The Times (3:39) - shorter version than on SOTT 2. A Place In Heaven (2:42) - Lisa lead vocal version 3. Crystal Ball (9:29) - diff to CB, includes Wendy & Lisa vocals side four: 1. The Cross (4:41) - same as on SOTT 2. Last Heart (2:58 ) - same as on CB 3. Witness 4 The Prosecution (3:56) - version with horns and Wendy & Lisa bv's 4. Movie Star (4:25) - almost the same as on CB 5. All My Dreams (7:09) . It's worth noting that this was the last version of the album before it was shelved, and isn't necessarily how the finished album would have appeared had it actually been released (Prince has already said that Last Heart was never finished). This tracklisting was taken from Uptown's Days Of Wild book, and differs slightly in running order to the Dream Factory bootleg that was released (I'm more inclined to believe Uptown's running order). There was also two segues which I didn't include in my tracklist (as it is highly unlikely that they would have been credited as seperate tracks on the finished album). The first one is a 48 second segue of dialogue and backwards instruments that comes between 'Visions' and 'Dream Factory', and is often refered to as 'Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A' (due to it including a portion of 'A Place In Heaven' backwards). why does it say moviestar is on SOTT? and it is a bit longer (by four measures?) including a vocal bit that is not on the crystal ball version

Not quite, it's the original shorter version of the song. Instead of fading out like the 7" version, it has a proper ending, like on the album version. | |
