Prince's sense of humor

We all know Prince has a great sense of humor. What is the funniest thing you've heard him say or heard he did? In an interview, in concert, wherever?
I personally loved it when he played the prank on Jay Leno last year and pretended he was a carpenter trying to fix Jay's seat. Prince even disguised his voice and called Jay on the set during rehearsal. Very funny.

my fav display of humor was when he talked about his annulment. That he and mayte no longer needed a contract 2 prove their love.

I like his subtle jokes in his music, movies, and the videos. But the movie 'Under the cherrymoon', says it all. I also like the humor in the Batman video, when someone is going to start singing 'Batman!' again at the end as if they didn't know the video was finished, and Prince says 'stop'. I just find those kinds of things very funny. biggrin

I liked when he came out wearing a disguise as an old man with a beard and his Raggety coat with Chris Rock at the G-Q Man Of the Year Awards. That Character is funny. I don't remember exactly what he said though. And I like his Mashed Potato Girl on the NPG cd.

Recently I heard a Calhoun Square soundcheck (One Nite Alone) at the Avery Fisher Hall.

During the chorus where the crowd sings 'wuwh', he said "Ya'll sound like Michael Jackson"...

Then, after blazing through an extended guitar solo, the song had finished and he quaintly said something like "Just seeing if the guitar worked"...

Twas funny.

ONA Oakland Paramount

Prince doing piano medley, letting fams sing Boys and Girls...

Fams just'a singing like they new it all!

"HE ONLY NEW HER 4 A LITTLE WHILE,
HE'D GROWN ACCUSTOMED 2 HER SMILE...

at the second verse Fams didn't sing as loud cause they didn't no the words they started humming it.

Prince standing on stage holding the mic down n2 the 1rst row, frowned, and said, "U all r up front, u're supposed 2 no this stuff, well that's alright now, y'all let me sing it."

Sitting down 2 his piano, he said over the mic, as if n after thought, grinning widely, "And all y'all n the 1rst 2 rows? IS FIRED!"
We cheered while he cracked up at his own joke!

at the same ONA
Prince couldn't get a certain girl 2 come on stage and dance.
no matter how he begged, she refused 2 come up, so he whispered n the mic, "Get her, y'all!"
Fams were on that girl, like white on rice.
She still struggled, and told Prince, No!
Prince, grinned n the mic, "Y'all bring her up here!"
Faithful Fams were dragging the girl 2 the stage, as she bgan 2 fight back, yelling, NO!
Prince addressed her directly, "U don't wanna come up here and dance with me?"
Girl: NO!
Prince looked surprised at the turndown, then smiled at the held struggling girl, "Y'all leave her alone," he pouted 4 a minute coyly, looking back at the girl, "She really don't wanna come up here, she scared a' me, Bless her heart."
Faithful Fams then freaked and yelled!
Eye'll come up there Prince!

Prince smiled 4 a minute, then answered the yells, "Eye ain't asked 4 non'a y'all, just her!"

it was a crack-up just c ing the Fams clamoring over each other 2 get onstage and Prince standing there smiling at them, noing they would not b permitted up there unless he said Come on!

which he didn't do!

he picked a dude. "Him! Yeah, him! The guy dressed up like a pimp!"

Prince can b funny just silently standing still, u can feel him laughing at u.

Also at the DC soundcheck of ONA Prince sprayed his guitar strings. Some woman asked,"What is that?" Prince said very seriously, "Mace."

I like when Sinbad interviewed Prince and commented about how much more open and accessible he'd been recently, saying something like:

"For years, you never talked. How come?"

Prince(in his best MJ impression): "Well usually I don't talk because my voice is so high..."

I liked the phone calls he recorded and put on the Cream cd-single. Anyone know who he was talking to? At one time, someone told me that it was his uncle, sister and someone else. Is this true?

Whomever they were, that was some funny shit!

Haystack

I can't remember which boot it is on, but at one point on it he sings;

'The hills are alive with the sound of mucus!'

It made me laugh, anyway.

Yeah, but making fun of people´s names isn´t cool. Imagine what it was like for me in high school.

In the intro and outtro to the song "Peace" from the downloads on NPGMC last year (i think) has him doing this whole "Arty" thing.

"Artist... somebody say Arteeest" (in the background is a session player or someone laughing his ass off) "Fahmolly known... as Preeence"

Can't give it justice here, but one of the funniest mother fucking things I've heard come out of his mouth... lol

Hands down the funniest, sickest thing Prince ever did was the long funny face stare he did in the camera while being interviewed by Tavis Smiley on BET. IT is this aspect of Prince's humor which is the most unique and strange. It is perfect PRince and no one else could do it and have it be funny. It is the kind of thing that all the humor that the Time used is based upon.

I like the part in the sexy MF video when he points to different women and says "you, you , and you LET'S GO!" like in a desperation. It was too funny

Japan 19th nov 2002. The Budokan show (the dvd show), a guy comes on stage, dressed in a hawaii like shirt and some hat.

Prince's comment:
"Maceo! I didn't know Ray Charles was in fashion!"

lol

I don't know if anyone remembers this. At the very end of the performance that was broadcast on VH-1 and MTV where he performed some of his song from the Emancipation album before the album was released. He had on a purple and black outfit, his hair was short (it was around the time of the Oprah interview and performance) When Kirky J. was still the drummer(that is funny enough). At the very very end of the MTV broadcast his shows a camera shot panning down the hallway where he has some of his record covers blown-up to full size.
A camera sneaks up on Prince he acts surprised and mugs at the camera like WHAT You want. I think Bill Bellamy host that performance. Does anyone remember that.
