Hey, I'm proud to say, I LOVE CHAOS + DISORDER!! When I first got this album I loved it and I still love it now.
Only after joining this site I found out that not a lot of other people like it. I just find that hard to understand why. I am presuming it's cos it takes quite a lot of different directions. Got it on headphones. Share with me why you like it - please!

I'm with you, dude. The album was a nice and graceful way to bow out of Warner Brothers. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Short, sweet and one of his more distinctive albums. Although I've always thought that the first few bars of 'Dinner With Delores' sound like the theme tune to some kind of U.S. legal drama TV show.

I'll bet it sounds very bass-heavy too, right? I Will is a beautiful song and a nice segue from Into The Light. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I love this CD... except Dinner with Deloris...
It's too bad this is such a short album... songs should have been a little longer... ZannaLee could use an extra guitar solo (or two ) Eye rock there4 Eye am! _______________________________________________________________________________________

take off "Right The Wrong", "Eye Rock There4 I Am" and
replace them with "Calhoun Sq" and "Hide The Bone" and throw in "Da Bang" just for kicks. Ding ding, move aside please, perfect album coming thru. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

i'm with Ist'!, those two tracks are just sad. For Prince rock i much prefer the Undertaker cd/video. Have to say that 'Had U' is fantastic as is 'i will' leading into 'into the light'. See even the cds that Prince hates has tracks we love.

This CD has some truly horrible songs...
"I Rock,Therefore I Am" "Right The Wrong" But I like "Dinner With Delores".The other songs are just average.

I like the rawness of this record. Michael Bland is rocking on this CD. I do not like the sirens on Zannalee, but that song rocks. Very bitter album.

Other than Right the Wrong and Same December - this album rocks and I like it there is so good.
If this had been released by the likes of Oasis or Blur in 96 it would have been welcomed as a master piece. Instead, along with most of his music since the hits it has been either ignored or derided simply for having the name Symbol on it.

I personally always start this disc with I LIKE IT THERE, that *uckin song rocks.

"Carjack used 2 fix flat tires (Get your ass out of the car now!)
Cadillac used 2 be a Benz (hey, get out of the street) Big joints never gotcha higher Freebase cost U in the end I'm just a no-name recorder... I wish i had nothing to say..." This song ROCKS HARD!!! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I really like the guitar work on this album. The guitar, bass, drum grooves are great, but the tommy b keyboard is awful. especially the cheesy sounds and sound effects.
Some of it reminds me of The Undertaker. Mostly that groove between Sonny, Michael B, and Prince.

Dinner With Delores is a really well produced pretty song. There is a great clean guitar sound, and that bass line really compliments it.
Beautiful. | |

It's always been one of my favorites. I got into this (and the Gold Experience) before Purple Rain and all of the "classic" albums so this is kinda what drew me into the experience believe it or not.

I think its OK, some of the songs R really good, but nothing stands out majorly. On the other hand I dont think its as bad as people make out. I really like the title track, Dinner with Delores and Dig U Better Dead, but despise Right the Wrong and Had U with a passion!

unny u posted this, coz I was gonna start a thread on the same day : "C&D kicks ass".
I don't LOVE the album, but it's fun to listen to, and it rocks. It gets me going when I'm in the mood (NPS and Rave, D&P and GB just stay on the shelf!). At some moments, it's one of the rawest records, at least since DM. THe second half gets a bit heavier, but it's still a nice listen. I think the crap that it got, is due to three factors: 1) The name-change 2) P's attitude when (under) promoting it, p'd media, critics and fans off. 3) It really is no masterpiece, with no stand-out gems either. P is judged by the standard he sets, and C&D just doesn't cut it (even GB had JIR, QOU etc.). The thing I lioke, though, is the timing in terms of the P odyssey. C&D as this prelude to Emancipation, and the massive contrast between the sounds and looks of the albums is brilliant. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"
