I saw St.Paul talk about the familly on TV yesterday. Really cool feature. I was watching a cannel 4 program in the UK last night! They ran a series of 2 hours shows called Top 10. On Top 10 soul Prince was at #1, but last night it was Top 10 Love songs and at number 8 was Nothing compairs to U. They interviewd St Paul who talked about Prince puting the familly 2gether, how Nothing compares 2 U was written about Jerome after a break up with his girl friend, and how St Paul didn't like Sinade O'Conners version. There were pics of the band that I hadden't seen before and a clip of The Famillies Video for Nothing compairs 2 U filmed on a beach. Then they inteviewed Rossie Gaynes about her recording of it with Prince. Channel 4 played the live version from the hits over the video for Diamonds and pearls to make it look like that was what they were singing 2gether.

It was a repeat. If I recall correctly, they showed the video for 'The Screams of Passion' but superimposed 'Nothing Compares 2 U' over the top - just as they tried to fake Prince's version with Rosie, as you described.A real unexpected joy on my TV last night.
