prince and brando... i love them both i was reading one of the previous topics which mentioned the links between prince and marlon brando's careers. i too have been thinking about this as well, both are geniuses in their fields, both had huge success early in their careers, both with the critics and the public. both hated the straightjacket the big companies tried to put them in regarding what product they would put out. both their careers became almost cult like in the interest generated by the new album or film they would release.
but even during brando's years in the mid to late sixties when hardly anyone was going to see his films,he was still recognised by his fellow actors has the best in the business, a fact recognised when he came to appear in the huge commercial and oscar winning comeback in the classic "godfather" role, the other actors in the film were said to be in "awe" of working with him. i believe this is true of prince at this current time, he may now be out of the public eye but he is still thought of very highly by his fellow musicians and it is only a matter of time before prince has his "godfather" type comeback just to stick two fingers up at the industry the same brilliant way that brando did in 1972. i just hope prince doesn't end up 400 pounds though!!!

Seems like the overly critical people are the sheep now days. It takes guts to admit that you like something. -Rdhull ...it ain't where ya from, it's where ya at... - Rakim

Neither Brando nor Prince will sign autographs anymore.
At an awareds show a few years back, Brando almost accidently ate Prince. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

teeny tiny Prince would just be buffalo wing for Brando. you betta throw in a Larry, Chaka, Kiry J and maybe Sheila or two.

I started the original thread. I'm glad someone else picked up on the amazing similarity. Brando is one of my favorite actors along with fellow "Godfathers" Pacino and De Niro. Prince is a genius musically thru and thru, I often wondered y some people who have it all (fame) seem to throw it all away and then seemingly want it back. In Prince's case I think he should give up the chase and concentrate on more productive pursuits, like tearing the record companies down from the inside and then re-creating them in his image.
