I'm fairly mild mannered, but I will speak my mind if people start shit. And as you'll notice, I never start beef with anyone. You're the one who couldn't handle my Prince criticism. But from now on dude, just keep absorbing the "new power funk" and don't worry about what other people think of your all mighty Prince.

I find the Symbol record difficult to listen to despite some excellent material (God Created Women, Sacrifice of Victor). Too whimsical at times, not uniformed musically , flow poorly, most annoying segues (also Gold Exp.), and just sounding like he's trying too hard. The rapping is also a lot less fun than D and P. Not that rap is good to begin with! His best album "Prince" suffers none of these flaws.

Silly, so silly. You wanna know what people really notice? They notice that you're so in love with Prince that you feel the need to defend his honor and use his stupid language. That "absorb the New Power Funk" comment really took the cake. If you're at all human, you have to at least be a little embarrassed about that. Can you fess up to that?

You know what. I listened to Batman last night and I bloody well enjoyed it. I like the batman album. What are you going to do?

Batman was a great album. Lot's of hot tracks and it was very consistent. In my opinion, the last Prince album I could listen to without having to press the skip button.

C'mon man, I'm just trying to get into the "new power funk" here. You seem so wise and open minded. Just try to help me understand the "new power funk", and how to better absorb it. I'm just a lost tone deaf soul who just doesn't know good music when I hear it. I mean, Prince's last few albums are great and anyone who criticizes them are just haters and are not appreciating his journey. Almost every album has it´s shitty song. TRC has a lot. If u don´t get the NEWS, u may not b ready for his new, jazzy, style.
NPS has freaks on this side. I always hoped P. would do that one live. Great funk.

For a real Prince fan I don´t think there´s any worst album, just not-as-good ones, every album has its point. Even The Black Album, which I don´t listen to since ages.
For me, Controversy, Diamonds & pearls and Symbol are masterpieces, I can´t understand a fan who doesn´t like them, they are the quinteessence of Prince talent.

There's a middle ground here. You don't have to be a fam to enjoy the man's current music (or even less popular albums like Rave) and you don't have to be a hater to cringe everytime you hear a corny "New Power___ " line. Hell, I didn't like those phrases when they really were new.
I like TRC and will probably like NEWS. I don't like NPS nor most of Diamonds and Pearls and Kamasutra. That's my opinion and I can accept those that differ-- inferior though they be. As I see it people that buy into everything the man does or conversely, spit on it all, have problems.

He's recorded a good amount of quality music in the 90's, but the Batman album is the very last one I could listen to all the way through without hitting the skip button.
