My feeling is, he's made is bed and now is lying it...quite comfortably if you ask me.

Hear me now and believe me later...

Any entertainer who doesn't respect his own fan base, attacks the community mags that he doesn't control, and is so afraid of file sharing that he's spitting out rinky dink instrumentals needs to come back to earth.

Last December is a beautiful work of perfection.. and so you know he still is repected as a one of a kind artist. Its just a shame that he's now becoming a forgotten name.

The last time I looked Marlon is 400 plus pounds.

Yeah that may be true but that has nothing to do with what I'm speaking of. If you know the history of Marlon Brando, he was once considered and perhaps still is considered the greatest acting talent in movie history, with a vertile range of characters that go from one end to another (similar to Prince), but desppite all his acclaim from the industry in which he was made famous and adored his talent and rewarded his talent he turned his back on continued success for a cause (native Americans), still actors and most of the public admire him and refer to him as genius ( his greatest roles happened 30-50 years ago), but studios see him as an utter pain in the ass.

This is Prince thru and thru

Brando's much larger...

Then again, Prince isn't the best actor around...

What the hell...? Anytime anyone in the industry talks about him you hear the word "genius". How has he lost respect? Hell, even the teeny bop acts gave him his props. Prince hasn't lost respect, most people in the industry just seem to see him as a royal pain-in-the-ass-control-freak. He hasn't lost any respect, not one shread.

Respect is the word and I stand by it, oh hold up I should have said "Prince's lost of FEAR in the entertainment..." then maybe you would understand. The fear factor is gone and in some "communities" fear and respect are the same thing.

Prince does not necessarily have to make hits anymore, in fact I think he is to old to repeat "1999/Purple Rain/D&P" again (Santana was a fluke of payola, no matter how good it sounds). He (Prince) is a better musician than anyone else around, but maybe he should stop being such a "pain-in-the-ass-control-freak" with no pull, and just take control, sign good acts, nurture young talent, and conquer the world like he was poised and positioned to do almost 20 years ago, when Paisley Park Records and studio were practically given to him.

Lucky bastard...ungrateful,lucky, genius bastard who had it all and got MUNSONED in the middle of no where, runs through the world shaking his guitar at the sky and mutters the word conspiracy, neglect and robbery to any record company who ever gave him a chance. Now sounds like a similarity to Kingpin (woody Harelson) and Fox Mulder (X-files)

Just talkin...

For the record Prince was invited by Clive Davis to attend a party and Prince was there and later seen having conversation with Clive.Prince saw how Clive was fucked by his Board of Directors & LA Reid at Arista.Which was caused by Davis giving Prince a hell of a record deal.

Hell La Reid is one of the most scandalous bastards on earth and no one will say anything except for TLC.
Rumor I heard was that Reid tried to rub shit in Prince's face regarding promotion of RAVE.Prince was fucking one of TLC's girls (I dont know which one.) & Reid was too.

Prince made from the sale of Purple Rain $0.24 for each album sold. The cassette was selling for $7-$8 dollars.

You do the math.

People praised Prince at the end of the 80's/early 90's, because at that time, he had released a series of amazing albums steadily for over a decade.

The following 10 years would not be the same case. There's a few songs here or there that I enjoy from the 90s till now, but there were so many crap songs, and flaky forgettable albums that he's released in recent years, it's really tarnishing his reputation.

guitar Maybe they're jealous. They can't imitate, duplicate or control him. His artistry has no bounds and he has full reign of his direction. Since they can't compare to Prince's musical mastery they feel inadequate and powerless. Trying to compensate their lack, they withhold respect.

I know that T-Boz is a HUGE fan. Maybe it's her, but I don't believe that they had a sexual relationship. She's married to rapper Mack 10. But I do know that she and P might be really good friends...

Reid told Prince in a meeting at Arista that he wanted Prince to "cooperate" with the release of the Hot Wit U single.Reid then told Prince that he would resign him to Arista if Prince would let "him" co-produce the record.

They said Prince walked out on him in mid sentence.

There is a entertainment column on the Foxnews website called the 411. The guy who writes the column did a whole bunch of articles last year about how fucked up LA Reid really is.

Apparently LA Reid gets his name on every song coming out of Arista. Rodney Jenkins splits his royalites on everything he produces and writes with Reid. I think Prince walked out because Reid was trying to work the same deal with him.

I think we know that there is no way that Prince is going to go for that kind of deal.

In addtion, there have been rumors that Prince dated Chilli from TLC and we know from Pebbles that Reid was going with Chilli and that affair ended their marriage.

Reid could have an axe to grind.

Exactly my point.

Then RAVE dies on the vine & all some on this site will say is how fucked up an album it was.
Rave was not the best Prince album but it had a couple of hits in it.No promotion = dead album.

I believe that Reid is no different than other record CEOs .That is why little man is doing his own thing.

Gladly !

When Crystal Ball was released Prince mentioned in an interview that the made more money from the sale of 100,000 copies of that album than from 13million copies of Purple Rain.He then stated that his take was $0.24 from that album per copy.

The TLC thing was mentioned here first then I asked friends of mine in the Atlanta music biz and they said that it was rumored that he was seeing one of the girls.I did not know which one until someone mentioned Chilli.

Several days ago I called my same source in Atlanta and she confirmed that Prince & Chilli was seen together many times during 99 & 00,but it was believed that Prince was going to produce something for her solo career(?)

LA Reid & Chilli WERE having a sexual affair which broke up his marrage to the very beautiful Pebbles. After the infamous meeting between Prince & new Arista DON Reid several stated that the Prince/Chilli thing may have been more than we thought.

just wondering - has anyone, anytime ever once heard of prince actually apologize for the mistakes he's made?

to WB? to his fans for all of the NPGMC delivery fiascos? for some of his more (arguably) questionable lyrics?

i think if prince has lost respect in the entertainment community it's for failing to acknowledge that his judgment is less than perfect and that he, too, has fucked up now and again. my 2c

Why the fuck should he apologize to a corporation? You apologize to people not corporate entities.

WB made shit loads of money off of Prince. Some dumbass executive gave the green light to his wasteful side projects. What should he apoligize for. He does not have a contract and must hustle for himself. Some fat cat excutives wreaked WB and received a nice golden parachute.

In addtion, no one forces fans to buy anything from NPGMC or listen to the lyrics.

hello? reread my post please, especially the part pertaining to the delivery fiascos. . . customers who pay for a product up front deserve to receive their goods when promised.

yes we do. you clearly haven't heard or read what kevin smith has to say about his exsperience with prince. kevin, a respected filmmaker, was once a total prince fanatic. he jumped at the chance to film a documentary prince invited him to work on.

prince never even thanked kevin or paid him for the week of work he and his film crew put in at the park.

also, mpls musician margie cox recently released her own album. in the liner notes she says 'no thanks to prince' because he actually slowed her project down, rather than helping her.

so yes, we do pretty much know that prince does not apologize when he messes up. check it out
