I want more details about the N.E.W.S. cd!!! Everyone's receiving their N.E.W.S. cd's at this moment and I'm just curious:
How does it look like? Scans, anyone! Are there any extra's? I read somewhere that if you put the CD in your computer "something" happens. What's that shit about? And how's the sound compared to the mp3 files. Much better, I guess? Please give me some details. Thanks... RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Not The Rainbow Children the retail cd had the same shitty compression as the mp3 we downloaded from October 2001 Shame too, try boosting 1+1+1=3 and the bass distortion is so shitty makes me wanna buy a Camaro and cruise for Greek chicks [This message was edited Sat Jul 12 22:29:07 PDT 2003 by CapedCrusader]

Uber-cheap packaging.
Just one piece of card that folds back on itself and tucks in to make a square. I mp3'd it without even listening to it because you're this is one CD that is gonna get some wear-and-tear if you handle it a lot. It looks kinda nice, but feels cheap and I can see people easily tearing or bending the pieces of card you have to fold in. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm a sucker for a major chord

It's plenty loud as it is. The MP3's for N.E.W.S. were 96 quality and mono, of course the CD is going to sound better.

Actually, the packaging was probably more expensive to produce, due to the custom die-cuts and hand assembly (machines can't do the tricky insert-folding). It looks cool, but this is another one that will be placed in a normal jewel case for day to day use, just like ONA. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
