Concerning Batman tracks on the Hits/B Sides

I was just wondering why it was the case that there was no inclusion, with the Xception of 200 Balloons, of tracks from Batman on the The Hits/B Sides. Is there a reason behind it or just coincidence? Considering the fact that both Partyman and Batdance did well in the charts.

Any1 know?

They felt that Batdance and 200 Balllons were to similar and opted for the latter.

I would have liked an extended version of Partyman though...hmm

Very odd yeah. I don't care 2 much for batdance or 200 balloons as I think they don't compare to soem of the other efforts.

I don't know for sure, but I always thought they left them off because of the actor samples...(Kim Bassinger, Jack Nickleson, etc...) Maybe it was a royalty thang.

Batdance was one of his five number one songs. It should have been included. Maybe there were complications with the producers of Batman

Not to mention probably getting clearance from D.C. Comics too.Perhaps there was too much red tape. shrug

hmmm, he did a lot of promo-stuff for it (like the SNL Anniversary performance)...but thinkin about it, I haven't heard him play any of those songs in a looong time ('cept maybe Scandalous)

I'd never thought of this before, though...he had 3 big songs from that CD it IS weird they didn't make it into the set...

Funny, I just pulled out my Batman can yesterday and played it which I hadn'nt for the looogest time!

It sounded fresh to me, and it really has some powerful songs in there. I still, and I know ya'lls going to yawn, like Arms of Orion. It's just really pretty and has a slight sophistication to it. Very romantic.

Along with the flurry of memories of the summer of 89, I really feel this is a great album, very entertaining.

But yeah, this album was BIG when it came out! The Batman fever was everywhere and it really should of been on the hits, at least Batdance.
