But WTF is this….




On the website ( http://www.noiseland.com/gallery.html ) it lists the commissioned artwork for the album. Did this ever materialise?

My shop bought album just came in the back of Crystal ball jewel case. Was this what you got from the old club?

The artwork does look familiar but I can't recall.

Any comments? But like I said, don't slay me.

It is the front cover of the CD single, 'The Truth' c/w 'Don't Play Me'. It could be purchased by placing telephone orders on the old 1-800 number before Crystal Ball emerged (the reverse of the jewel case reads: from the 4thcoming acoustic recording "the TRUTH" call 1-800-NEW-FUNK for other current releases)

It is copyrighted NPG Records 1997.

The single itself bears the same image.

The cover folds out with the lyrics to the two songs, stating it was recorded at Paisley Park in 1997 engineered by HM Buff.

I don't believe any dedicated artwork emerged for 'The Truth' album - other than the Crystal Ball material posted on the artwork website:

There is a fan made cover for the album too.

The two pictures used are from '96/7, Prince on his own sat on a stool with a guitar.

I dunno if they were meant for the official cover when the album was slated for release, but they're the pics that have always been used by fans to associate with the album.

I remember 1997 interview in magazine and online review from
when album was first popping up here and there. Reviewers
said album had picture of prince, sitting on stool, crossed legs playing a guitar in pinstripe suit.

"Truth" single cover is original artwork but does not look like Prince release too me it is very strange cover and is not fitting for the music i think.
