Petition for the funk album............. I mean c'mon now,
Prince I love all the jazz stuff. I am waiting patiently for you to get out of your system. Where is the funk cd, and no I don't mean the next "npg" album. I'm talking about some Tamborine funk! I used to get variety when I bought a Prince CD. Now I know what I'm getting. Lets bring back the analog equipment and just do a real raw funk album. If you need inspiration just listen to "I'm yours" Nobody Funks like Prince! Stop playing wit a brotha's emotions! | |

Who knows if we'll see anything really funky again on lp.
We know it's there. All you have to do is listen to him at an aftershow to see the funk still lives within him. The thing is he seems to have other things on his mind at the moment. Perhaps he doesn't feel his message is best put across on a funk tune. And maybe that's a good thing. A song drowning in overly religious lyrics, for me, kills the funk. Take 'the everlasting now' for example: great tune, but that chorus..  "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"
