I'm no expert - only been to PP on one Friday night - but in the recent past (previous NPGMC versions), these events are posted at the site the day (or night) of the party. When special guests are included, the word is generally released earlier.
Not all PP parties come with a performance (as was my experience), but Prince seems to enjoy hanging around at the sound board, watching us watch him. It's fairly obvious that Prince has no interest in creating a crushing stampede at PP by announcing a performance. By keeping it vague, inexpensive, and very late at night, few risk the trip, and he can decide if he's inspired to play or not - no promises, no lies. I like it that way. It's part of the magic. Bottom line, if PP moderators leaked word of a party, it's probably on, but what you experience probably won't be finalized until everyone gets there and Prince feels the vibe. The mods announced Conversation Peace (an open jam session) will be performing at Paisley Park Thursday and Friday night at
10pm $7.00 admission The moderators there have not posted anything in the forums yet. All info has been dropped in the chat room there. Maybe thats the only invited being given (sorry guys, guess thats a diss 2 non-NPGMC members). Info was dropped Sunday evening at 7pm (CST) and last night at 10 PM (CST) by Paisley Park 1. You are going to fly in for a performance by a band called "Conversation Peace"? I'm not even willing to give up sleep for this and I only live 40 minutes away. I've been to far too many parties where everyone just stands around looking at each other and Prince makes a five minute appearance at the Soundboard. I have a 10k to run Saturday morning and a good nights sleep seems more important. | |
