'he told me 1 day when i was in the studio with him afterhours that he would give it all up 2 go follow god..." i was 1 of the 4tunate ppl in some respects. ive almost kinda lived the princefan dream. i got in2 his music in 85/85 whilst at school, and skipped school 2 buy sott on the day of release. listening 2 that album i wanted 2 meet the man, go 2 his studio and c his life. i always thought it would b impossible, so many much bigger fans than me all over the world.
a few years later his fanbase declined and i was front row at all his shows, invited 2 his tv appearances, invited onstage with him, invited 2 sing with him, 2 dance with him, i got 2 visit the studio, i got 2 sit in the very room where so many songs were recorded, sit there with prince and his wife and his producers and the time, sit at the soundesk where everything was mixed, sit on the very chair he sits on when he records all his vocals. i was invited 2 watch him rehearse at his studio. it got 2 the stage where he and his staff knew me. a far cry from listening 2 purple rain on my walkman after school. i got 2 play on the drum machine he used 2 record all these tracks, checkout his guitars and instruments. and it happened again and again. i got in with his top ranking staff so high. but the thing is, he is just like u n me and every1 else. just a person. he is like the next guy u meet on the street. an individual. a person. only he made a bit more of his life. but he aint a god or anything like that and he knows it. he told me 1 day when i was in the studio with him afterhours that he would give it all up 2 go follow god. a bold statement, especially coming from a rich man who used 2 talk about dance music sex romance.  | |

I was just thinkin that you know though, this could've been written by ANYONE who's a NPMCG member, been to a celebration and taken through the studio...it just has a spin to make it seem personal... cause really, all NPGMC members were "invited' to concerts and the Tonite Show appearances. Every show these days people are 'invited' on-stage etc... Not to say it hasn't been awesome to experience these things, but DAMN this person makes it sounds like they're best friends or something fams frighten me | |
