every prince album is different.

I just had a thought this morning, which is indeed unusual in itself. nuts

BUT i just thought that every prince album has been completely different from any other that he has released. Each album is so unbelievably unique that it cannot be compared to any other prince album.

there was a slight exception with the FOR YOU and PRINCE albums but even then they are different.

When looking at it like this i have kinda rediscovered the wonder of every prince album, even NEWPOWERSOUL.whofarted

STRANGE BUT TRUE!!

You're right! Especially the 80's stuff from purple rain up to and including lovesexy is incredible in that regard. Each album has it's own sound, style, look etc.

I disagree to a certain point. I think P has 2 year runs, then flips it slightly.

Similar CD's...

For u & Prince

Flips it - Dirty Mind - Flips it again -

Controversy links into 1999, which links into Purple rain - Flips it -

ATWIAD & Parade - Flips It

Sign O' The Times - Flips It

Lovesexy & Graffiti Bridge (and to the lesser extent, Batman) - Flips it

D&P & prince

etc, etc. Most of his CD's are in pairs, not exact, but similar tone.

Just my thought

NO not two holes in the middle. Two holes placed at about a third from either edge of the cassette and probably half way down the length of it. if the two holes were in the centre then there would only be one hole silly.

sheesh. tease

The two year run thing is something a lot of fans come across, and I tend to agree.

Also if you take in all the related artists stuff and the unreleased stuff you can see a fluid and progressive development from 1978 to 2003.

Within that is the 2 year run thing, albums seem to be paired in a way.

I agree that every album segues into the next phase. With the exception of The Truth and The War, between '96 and '99 he was creating yawnfests. When "Prince" produced Rave for prince the format didn't change. I think he's averaging every 3 years with a new sound now. Xpectation and NEWS sound like extensions of the Rainbow Children.
