Are you sick of Prince yet?

And if so...what other artists or interests would you develop?

I mean, we're all pushing on in years...can't run around in Purple pumps forever. What actions by Prince would make you turn your back on him?

Add to that...his fans can be a little nuts also, would you "hide" from the Prince scene to avoid such nutters?

If I was sick of him, I would be here! smile

I dig tons of other artists, although I don't think any of them have resonateed with me asmuch as Prince, even if I do listen to them more than I do Prince.

I am a little sick of Prince so I cut back on my listening habits and stopped collecting every boot I could get my hand on.

Actually Prince's "nutter" fans are one of the many reasons that I am down on Prince. The word "fam" makes me cringe and at the few Paisley parties there has been in the last couple of years the fams seem to be taking over and it makes me ill.

I don't really care for Prince's new belief system or his music so I am withdrawing from the scene a bit. I still dig the org though (except the fams big grin ).

dammit, there should be a paisley rebellion or sumfin if there's ever another party...make them fammy-fams run to the hills...or at least out onto highway 5...evillol

but yeah, i don't listen to prince 24/7/52/365--hell, the majority of the time i'm payin attention to my old-skool funk vinyl collection. i only listen to p whenever i'm either really super-bored or i'm in the mood to listen to 'im.

Prince used to be the best overall song writer of the twentieth century, but has lost it. He has that potential inside of himself, but does he really have that hunger that he once had? Creativity starts with a spark. Prince is a fizzle melding into a fart. lol

no, for a couple of reasons:

1.I'm not on here 24/7

2.I don't listen to his music 24/7

I've been a fan for 20 years, I've sort gotten used to him.

Besides, I took a 'break' from him during that whole symbol fiasco. I just recently started paying attention to him again in 2000 smile

my Prince listening goes in waves. Although, in the last few years, my periods of not listening to Prince seem more frequent and last longer...I love the music, but it's changed in the past 5 years...and as I continue to find new bands to listen to, I just can't devote all my time to the man...

I'm not 'sick' of Prince but my interest has definitely waned. I've been a fan...oops, "friend" for damn near 20 years now and ever since Chaos & Disorder I just kind of threw up my hands and said "I give up". Mid nineties - present Prince is kinda weak. He's still an ace musician but he's kind of like a crazy old uncle that I have great memories of but you know he's way past his prime. Bottom line...I like my Prince music dirty, fonky and profanity ridden. Give me old Prince ANY day.

I've been sick of Prince for a few years now. There's still a slight hope that he'll at least produce one good song, but I won't hold my breath.

Prince is it! Other artists don't interest me. Prince is what I know, I am comfortable with him, he is definitely my comfort zone. Who wants to be bothered with trying to 'get into' someone new. As long as he is pumping out as always, I am a fan for LIFE!

Yeah, dude, I'm 23, and have only been a fan for 7 or 8 years. But am I sick of him yet? Almost. biggrin

I hope that he, like anybody, is happy. Right after that hope, I hope that this phase of his life passes. Quickly.

I'm already actively trying to find other artists who I dig as hard as I dig Prince just in case he finally, totally, completely pisses me off. So far, no luck. But it's a fun search.

I have only been a fan for about 2 years and I dont feel tired of him at all... in fact as time goes by I have more appreciation for him, of course I will never have the experience of feeling like I am being shocked by electricity when I first heard ' I Would Die 4 U ' but I can always have the fond memories
Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. We are Sexually Frustrated what we R... Amen..!!! - zelaire

No I'm not sick of Prince yet. I've been reading the org for ages but only just registered, so that kinda says I'm still interested. I suppose the best description of my feeling about Prince is 'interested, but not excited by him'.

I went through a phase of being really disapointed with what he was putting out. Now I'm just glad he is still around and making music, even if the current stuff isn't to my taste. There is always the chance that he will do something new that I will love. I'm very patient.

From my experience I did begin 2 lose a bit of interest around 'The Vault' time. However, I think 1ce Ur in2 Prince, I dont think U can honestly say, well 4 me, that U can get sick of him. Thats becuz Im always interested 2 here the new stuff he's doing. I believe he's got interesting ideas i.e. The Rainbow Children, Xenophobia etc. They perhaps, I dunno, need fleshing out a bit more.

He worries me from time 2 time, has he or hasn't he lost his muse..?
but I always like 2 put on a P cd...
My g/f only likes his stuff up2 TGE and thinks the new stuff is boring and without soul...
I just hope he gets his act 2gether and starts feeling the muse again, no influences just Prince... TRC was a good start but his music is still missing something..
NEWS sounds a little boring... omg
I loved the Ona live shows and he did seem enthusiastic about them... But somehow the tour also left me with a feeling that I had seen enough of Prince... I spoke 2 him in london and saw 2 aftergigs (Marquee and night town), a fan's dreams come true.. but the meeting left me empty... (i will expand on this feeling if u like but not right now..)

I'm not completely sick of him, but like I have said b4 the only real reason why I still have an interest in his music still is due to the interesting bootlegs of the '80s period. His 1990's and 2000's output haven't been enough to hold my attention, alone.
Like alot of other people (I presume), I still hope that he'll realise another killer album - but I have to accept that I prefer the Prince of the '80s, where the vibe was untouchable. Take the 1st Avenue performance in August 1983 as an example.
Nowadays he's too polished and has opened up a little too much (countless interviews/celebration events @ PP, and so on).
But, saying that - I remember a time when I dreamed of him doing more interviews and opening up his studio for his fans!!
So, I guess we'll never be satisfied no matter what happens!

I am more than sick, I am disgusted with Prince's attempt to convert his fans to his newfound faith. The Rainbow Children album is to blame. I personally believe that JW faith is not the right path for him. It takes something away from his music. While I surely miss the Prince from the 1978-1991 area, I wouldn't exactly want him to repeat himself all over again. Sexiness is where soul, sweetness and spice are found. After the release of Rave, I thought he would take sexiness to a more elevated level. The motto:"It is better to be a follower than a leader" makes no sense. Follower of whom or what? Where did he get this? I always thought that he was in command of his destiny.
