Funny Story Relating to a Prince Song (Well, I Thought It Was Funny Anyway - LOL!) A few days ago, I stopped at a gas station to buy some food. As I was paying for my purchases, I happened to notice that they had a basket of towelettes to wipe your hands off after you pump gasoline into your car. What struck me as odd was that these towelettes were labeled as "fingerbowls".
As I was glancing at the fingerbowls on the counter, all of a sudden Prince's voice popped into my head from the "Mashed Potato Girl Intro" on the Exodus CD: "What the fuck business is it of yours? I'm paying for these fucking potatoes; I'll do what the fuck I wanna do with them. Now bring me a fuckin' fingerbowl!" I had to bite my lip to keep from busting out laughing since I didn't want to have to explain to the cashier why I was cracking up (he wouldn't understand it anyway). On a side note, I have never heard of towelettes at the gas station being referred to as "fingerbowls". When someone says "fingerbowl" I picture an actual bowl filled with warm water that you can dip your hands into and a regular towel to dry them with. Has there ever been an occasion where you saw something or someone said something and a Prince song popped into your head? I know I probably am not the only person who does this on an ocassional basis (and no, I'm not a fanatic, just a person who enjoys Prince music a lot). I once told a friend of mine that there seems to be a Prince song for just about every occasion. Feel free to share any stories you may have. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |
