Digging The Sign O' The Times Movie All Over Again!

What yo fave moments from this flick? Here's what I mostly enjoyed:

1.Play In The Sunshine: Sheila E's solo,,,whew! that chic is one mean bitch on them drums.

2.Housequake: The Cat+Prince dance moves at the end.

3.The Whole of ICNTTPOYM pre4mance.

4.Charlie Parker's "Now's The Time" whole pre4mance.

5.IIWYG whole pre4mance,,,I loved the whole airy feel music

6.Slow Love nod

7.Forever In My Life: I honestly never got into the studio version till I heard this one,,,he should've include the live version betta. I loved it when he was going emotional!

8.Its Gonna Be A Beautiful Night-Jill Jones & Jerome shoulda been there nod

Watching this movie,,made me miss Boni Boyer alot, that woman can sang and she's indeed a beautiful lady. Sheila E. & Cat's presence can be anything but denied, esp Sheila,,,ooohh weeeh that woman is one helluva drummer. I sho hope Prince would hook up with her in his next effort.

The only two fools I could live without any day are Brooks & Wally barf what the fuck was Prince thinking?

Anyway ya'll, show some love!

growing up in south africa in the 80's wasn't a fun place to be, in the middle of the apartheid governments policies and the fact that the whole world turned their backs on us because of these atrocious racist policies (except for america who were all too happy to give us their culture , music , fashion , coca cola , pepsi and whatever they could get from us , (diamonds, gold, minerals, oil, etc) so we didn't get international artists.

but in my school there was a girl who i liked who went to england for the summer and i gave her some money and asked her to get the film "sign of the times" from hmv for me.

she did and it blew my mind.

it will always remind me of high school and my teenage years. it was slick and so well done and inspired me to look beyond where i was from and dream of living and working in places like london and new york , which i now do.

thank you prince.

Seeing this on the big screen was even better than the video.

Two things about this movie I will always remember.
1. The night it was released and seeing it twice.

2. The day I bought the video was the day after I graduated from high school. My best friend & I were huge Prince fans and we watched it over and over.He left the next day for the military and even though we are still cool, that was the last time we were really best friends.

Loved the whole thing but there are a couple of "off the wall" things that I love.

1. The organ playing during the credits at the end.

2. Miko's guitar part in IIWYG (you have to listen closely to pick it up).

3.The Horn parts of the breakdown/A-train of Beautiful Night.

4. The intro to U Got the Look

5. Prince's clothes

Musically, this was brilliant. The intros to "Hot Thang" and,ICNTTPOYM were unique. The dancing in HOUSEQUAKE is chilling. The visuals and overall performance of IIWYG is incredible. The entrance of the band to the stage is just creative. The scale of the "Musical" called Beautiful Night is just too much, it's just that good. And, the musicianship of the band is just unmatched, even today.

I would have Loved for him to Tour the U.S. with this.

Note- One of my wants in life is to be able to see a video of the Sign O the Times concert. Not the concert movie with the edits, but the actual concert with the performances of Kiss, Purple Rain, ect.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

I love this video. I've watched it probably 100 times or more. I've played it for friends too over the years and they are always blown away and they are not even Prince fans. One can not deny is showmanship or talent heart guitar
