Until You're In my Arms Again...

i have never been a fan of the newpowersoul album so lots have things have passed me by regarding that lp. last night my friend had the cd on random with a couple other discs. when this track came she said she thought it was about his son. i have never even given that a thought but as soon as she said it, it made sense. i always thought of it as just another love song (and not that good, either). now, with this perspective, i think it is such a better song. the lyrics never actually say woman or girl or lady, just that he misses someone and he thinks they'll be together again someday. what do you think about this?

I have also heard that this song was about the child that Prince lost. If you listen to the words of the song, Prince sings "I imagine U sleeping in your bed...wrong or right the reason U're taken from my embrace...well, it was never said." It does sound like Prince is singing about the loss of a child. This song is probably my favorite off the "New Power Soul" CD.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I also heard it was about his son, and it almost made me cry the first time i heard it, I could just imagine the pain he was going through.

I like that song alot. I think it's beautiful. With that perspective, you're right, makes it even more beautiful.

This song was never lost on me because I can find a gem on any Prince cd. That is the beauty of being a Prince fan! This song immediately captured me. This one and When U Love Somebody back to back kill me!

I think it's a beautiful song. One day I was reading the lyrics along with the song and realized it was about his son. A very sad, but beautiful song. You definitely can hear the pain. cry

Sorry, but I'm not with you here. The song is simply too silly and one of the reasons I lost Prince a lot in the 90ies.
