who is usually very picky about music and constantly laughs and mocks when i say that i dig prince, BUT, heres the thing, when i played her Xenophobia and a bit from a soundcheck i got i could see her starting to pull this face that said the funk had taken control.

At this point she promptly asked me to give her a copy of each and begged to hear some more prince.

i couldnt believe that Xenophobia would have that effect on a non-fan. sheesh. normally i would bust out Sign 'o' the times to try and prove the point.

All i can say now is that Xenophobia is my new weapon of mass distraction.

Wow! I am gonna give it a try and see if it works on any of my non-prince fans mates.

I was playing the cd in the rehearsal room when our quite jazz-snobbist horn section came in. They loved it, then had a hard time figuring out the riff! Of course, they very casually inquired who it was. Man I loved answering that one!

also when the song sign o the times started my mate started trying to do the bass line before it kicked it, it was awful! but absolutely hilarious! when the actual bass line kicked in everyone burst out laughing!
