I am all into ONA Live. I love Small Club too, but ONA is just way more complete. His playing on both of them is awesome, so for me, its the songs he plays on ONA that makes me enjoy that one a bit more. | |

I haven't listened to ONA live yet (will get around to it!) so I can't say yet, but I do feel that Small Club was suppose to be a live release, I really do.
It's just too good. It fits well right after that period of Sign and Lovesexy. I think the tape was leaked out, maybe against WB. Like kind of the Black Album...was maybe...who knows. There's a Parade tour show in Paris that was ALSO recorded amazingly (not too much bottom end in the recording but, you got to turn up the bass, but super clear)..., Prince exclaims in the beginning of 17 Days "We're recording a LIVE RECORD!" "Comprende?!" "Good God!" ! So was he wanting to release FINALLY a live album? I suspect too that ONA Live was his "Okay, Finally" live album, competing with himself to make something AS magical or if not better than Small Club. ...
