N.E.W.S/Sensual Everafter

When I first heard The Sensual Everafter from TRC, I knew exactly how and why the song was given that title. It's a very Sensual/Sexual song, with 4play, intercourse, a climax, and finally an orgasm. Prince really tapped into his genius to pull this off. I couldn't stop repeating that song...

Now NEWS another instrumental, with the same concept: extreme detail, character, movement/fluctuation, sensuality, and a funky groove... and the (WHOA!) factor about all of those characteristics, is that they're recognizable without a single word, text or lyric. When listening to NEWS, and find myself amazed at the sound and color...I say to myself "I know he didn't, go there!" Ex. Track 3 West @ 08:32. Undescribable beauty.

Each track has 3 or 4 highlights like this, which is why it's hard to remove from both my car and home stereo. If I do take it out, I'm replacing it with Xpectations...

Which in itself is also vocally mute masterpeice. I admit after The X album (I call it for short), I was thirsty to hear his voice to music again. So when it became apparent that NEWS was another instrumental, I told myself I'll deal with it. After a couple of spins, of both NEWS and Xpectations, if you listen closely enough. You can hear Prince's true voice, all through both pieces...

Beautiful and FUNKY as a Mutha***! What more can you ask?

What a nice review!

I agree with you all the way.

The only thing I like a little less is that West and South sound too much alike. Both songs have various highlights, but it would be perfect if South would have sounded somewhat more 'southern'.

Both North and East breathe the right atmosphere (North with the bassline and the strange guitar sounds, to me it soudns like Alexa De Paris at times, East with the strange eastern sounds). These two tracks are just perfect to me.

West is also great; it has typical soul, pop, rock sounds of Western culture. When I listen to it I can almost see the sun rise above Malibu Beach (been there once!).

South I can't really situate/experience like the others. It's a tad regrettable that it doesn't sound as exotic to me as the first two.

overall though, it's the bomb! I can't stop listening to it in the car also (low quality mp3, put on cassette, but enloyable nevertheless)

I wish he puts it in retail, I don't feel like being an NPGMC memeber again.

Yeah, you'll love it Joshy... Beauty without words is how I describe it so far, yet that's what good music is.

And by the way, IT'S THE FUNKIEST ALBUM I'VE HEARD FROM ANY ARTIST IN A LONG TIME! HAS THE INSIDE OF MY CAR STANKIN'!
