BEST things U've heard from a NON-fan I always respect people who (even if they don't understand the extent of my appreciation of Prince) can see his talent or admire his beliefs.
My old guitar teacher once said Prince is only the musician who can dance and play guitar at the same time.

It' not easy being the only Prince-fan in my neighbourhood , and most of my friends think he's creepy , but they still admit that he has a couple (ignorance, ignorance...) of good songs, and they particularly acknowledge When Doves Cry. And a guy I know who plays guitar himself, agrees that Prince is a very good guitar-player. But that's it.

Since bumping into a fan of the music coming from Paisley Park is an extreme rarity these days.. you hear mostly a pin drop remark from older cats that mention the fact that he "was" a talented musician. And since 1997 and his dropping out of the spotlight, i've noticed that the "is" seems to have strangely changed to "was"
Likewise most diehard fans of the music during the 90s no longer search for his underground releases but are still very much aware of the vault and the potential to do something someday that could blow the music industry away.
