Boris,
Do you think the album would have worked better with the original Crystal Ball there instead of Eye No ?

ally85, you gotta hear the live version from the lovesexy tour.
talk about CHILLS... No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

"Lovesexy", the album, is incredible. That's all.
Except to say: What is it with people not getting into "Eye No"? That track is truly fantastic and wondrous. With one of his coolest basslines ever, it's simple but just marches the song along unstoppably. And what's this cheap drum sound on "Positivity"? I LOVE that cheap snare. Time was when Prince could make such odd, abstract decisions and they'd sound great in his songs. I've always thought that Prince's phatness came from his "thinness"- his minimalism and unexpected use of tone. If he'd made "Positivity" with the NPG it would've sounded like a bunch of lumberjacks. Me, I *love* the weirdness of his 80s stuff... What else sounds like THAT?!... NUTHIN'!

those 2 trax r like the crust in a loaf of bread... Okay, we must not own the same album. because NO we ain't talkin' about the same No! That's one of the greatest Prince tracks in history. I said it. And I'll say it again if I need to! Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Which is cool and all, just sayin'. This album has to be the most intense expression of joy ever put to record. Right ON. What he said. Joy. It's pure joy. The headspace where I want to live is expressed in that record. He gave me a name for it. I love it. Love it, love it, love it.
