Quite possibly the only song that hasn't had a spotlight shone on it here yet....

uh-huh, the lil' lonely tune on side 2 of the prince album. i dig it, tho' sometimes i sit listenin to it and wonder, "what the fuck is yo fine ass doin cryin over how you can't get a woman?!" evillol

this is one of those tunes where it's like you either wanna hug 'im, smack 'im and tell him to shuddup, or throw 'im a quick sympathy fuck or whatever.

falloff thoughts/props, anybody?

typing stiiiiill editing....

this is my absolute favorite off the first 2 albums, easily.

i first heard the live version from an '82 or '83 show - when he goes right into it from hcudcma...and i was blown away.

the album version is more mellow, more cheesy, more 70's...but just as beautiful.

you know, i like the first two records but i just find it hard to get into them often. this is a good song but those first two albums always strike me as an artist looking for his voice. and then, with dirty mind, he found it.

Even though I love the song "still waiting", it really was the entire "Prince" album that made me realize just how talented of an artist Prince is. I had heard many of the songs on the "Prince" album as a kid when the album first came out, but it wasn't until years later (like Parade/Sign era) that I discovered Prince did all the vocal work and instrumentation for the entire album. When I listened to the album again with the new understanding of how Prince created the whole thing, I was blown away.

"Still Waiting" showcases the plush vocal work that Prince is now known for. But it is the heartfelt emotion of the song that stays with you forever.

I think it's cute, it's kinda like Home Come U Don't Call Me Anymore, only a little more innocent/adolescent.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I LOVE this song! I sing it in the shower all the time!
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.
