Prince sale - HMV + confirmed4 Glasto 2004

there is a huge sale in HMV UK at the moment, dirty mind and emancipation 4quid. PR, ATWIAD and parade a fiver as is D&P. sign o the time reduced from 24quid to a tenner. just in case some of you are missing those albums!!! i picked up sign at long last, and i saw this guy get D&P!

also, BBC ceefax page 541 say prince has confirmed to play glastonbury 2004! i hope he has a proper new album out by then and its going to be very interesting to see what style he plays! most people only know a few hits really

also, at a bbq yesterday and talking to this 14year old about HMV sale and i mentioned prince, he immediately threw his head between his legs like he was sucking himself off! i cant believe that rumour still goes round! then he said prince is gay but went all quiet when i said prince has kim basinger and carmen electra! (it was kim wasnt it?)

This 'confirmation' is no more than the position yesterday or a week ago. Michael Eavis has previously stated that Prince has promised to play next year. Whether Prince will play next year is another matter as Prince has said nothing about the matter for public consumption.

i'll believe it when i actually see prince on stage at glasto. he is way to sketchy to believe. anybody remember something called the celebration? he said he was having that again this year and here we are. and that is at his own house! lol

regardless, it is a dream of mine to get to glasto. one year...

jesus. what's with all this 'i'll beleive it when i see it..." on the Glasto Story. the ORGANISER is saying ON RECORD that Prince is playing next year... what more do you want...

yes, things can change, as they can with ANYTHING. do you guys buy tix for his concert and phone a mate at the venue to ask if Prince is on stage before you leave the house...??

Also, the whole Purple Rain anniversary album IS happning. i'd expect some confirmaton in October / November. as WB usually have an annual conference outlining the following years 'priority releases'.

Eavis doesn't have to make false statements about who's playing at Glasto, period. It'll sell out regardless of who's there. As with anything Prince, we'll just have to see if he keeps his word...

I see you're not familiar with Prince's so-called promises...

Just some accuracy. Prince is not confirmed for Glastonbury, as reported in the headline of this thread.

Michael Eavis has not gone on record to say that Prince is playing next year, as you state above.

Michale Eavis has stated that Prince has promised to play next year, not just as of yesterday, but in earlier press comment too.

Acts are confirmed after the licence has been granted (next year) and when the performer has agreed terms with the festival organiser.

So people are just waiting to see the promise become a confirmation before they start shouting from the rooftops.

And no-one is suggesting that he has made a false statement. People are simply making the point that Eavis is not confirming Prince's appearance - he's repeating his earlier statement that Prince has promised to play Glastonbury.

Agreed.
