if prince did an unplugged tv concert...

I was looking at my tape of a HALL & oates tv request show
that aired months ago (which was great) and they did a cool
4 or 5 song set that was unplugged...

which got me to wondering if prince ever did an entire 2
hour 'unplugged show" and U could call in and request songs
for him to do what songs would you CHOse?

also as a secondly question: in an acoustic environment
which musicians would you want him to do this special
unplugged concert with?

i'm still working on my setlist (its gonna take a while)
but i will give you my "wish list" of musicians to play
with P on this show...

acoustic pianos: fink & lisa
standup bass:rhonda
drums: john blackwell
trap drums: sheila e (naturally)
acoustic guitars:wendy,prince,levi & jesse
backing vocals:rosie.marva king
(on the blues and jazz songs...lisa & wendy folk-rock stuff)

sax:eric leeds
trumpet:atlanta bliss

(i'm looking for a hybrid musical style of jazz, acoustic
blues,folk-rock...the people i chose fit unplug format
perfectly to me...)

its gonna take a while to chose the setlist!
so you guys wanna go first?

youngca...if U saw H & O,or clapton,e-badu,l-hill's unplug
shows you'll dig this thread!

I'd love Prince to perform 'when doves cry' at his piano, backed with a string quartet. In aintimate setting that would bring a tear to my eye.
You do as I say

HE IS NOT CONFIRMED! They don't confirm any act until well after the licence has been granted.

Here's some songs i'd request for the special Prince Unplugged concert show.

some of these i picked because they'd sound quite interesting in an unplugged mode:

prince unplugged set 1:(prince on 12 string acoustic)
1. around the world in a day
2.17 days
3.mountains
4.maybe your baby
5.4 the tears in your eyes
6.she's always in my hair (this one would be quite cool
in a jazzy-folk style ala
cassandra wilson)
7.uptown (folk-blues style)
8.girls & boys
9.glam slam
10.power fantastic
11.witness 4 the prosecution

these are the ones for set one. the band takes a 10 minute
intermission...

more to come...

Michael Eavis was not CONFIRMING Prince's appearance next year - he was simply repeating that Prince has promised to appear then.

As SquirrelMeat correctly stated:

1. Glastonbury 2004 itself has yet to be confirmed because it has to acquire a licence (albeit that it is highly unlikely that a licence would be refused in the light of the success this year).

2. It is only after the licence is granted that performers are confirmed as appearing.

Of course, hearing it from Eavis' mouth gives the announcement as much credence as we are likely to get at the moment, but Eavis is simply reported as saying 'Prince promised me'. There would appear to be a verbal commitment, no written contract, no terms settled.

I remember an interview with Prince in Rolling Stone maybe where he talked about this and seemed amped to perform an acoustic version of "Willing and Able."
