I'd always wondered if we'd have anything to talk about. . .and then it happened. . .and we talked about religion. It was good, overall.

How brilliant Wendy and Lisa are.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Well, when I talked with him it was basicly about music (mostly about 'parade'). It was a pretty good conversation, he's actually a nice person, and wasn't shy at all.

I think it would be very interresting to talk about religion with him.

When a group of us met Prince he talked about religion, race, the state of division, the beauty of man and woman, and unity of all mankind... sadly nothing about music. But all was cool though and even though I know that there are a lot of people who think that since he is a JW that he was trying to convert everyone... that wasn't the case by any means. He respected everyone's beliefs and the man enriched us so much with his views on life, etc. He is truly a gift from God...

I was actually lucky enough to meet Prince a few years ago at Bunker's (Bunker's is a small club in Minneapolis). He was out with Larry Graham to see The Combo (Sonny T and Michael B play in The Combo). I was there is a friend of mine named Darren. Darren goes to the same church as Larry Graham and we were talking to Larry and his wife. Prince was sitting behind Larry and I was like 'now or never' so I just went up to Prince and said hello. I told him that I respect his musicianship and thanked him for all of his great music. He said thanks and smiled. I was thankful none of his security came after me so I told him to take care and left him alone.

It was a great show. Larry got up and played "The Jam" and it was super funky. Three other members of Sly and the Family Stone were out there (the 2 ladies and the trumpet playing man) that night and we got to meet them all. They got up and played Everyday People. It was pretty cool.

When I met the man we talked about the current state of music, religion and race. We butted heads on some topics and agreed on others. He was very passionate about his beliefs (as was I) and he was very cordial. We hung out for like 4 hours. He was cool.

Don't know. I know that I wouldn't make him uncomfortable. If anything, I would probably say something funny. It would probably loosen up any nervous tension I'd be feeling. I would love to make him smile. smile
