I once came across a strange box set, bootleg fans, any help?

I was in a record store once and they had this gold box with the 0(+> on the top. It wasnt the love symbol album, it was about 2 cd's by 2cd's wide. It said it had live stuff and studio enclosed. I believe the box was aluminum. The symbol was pressed and raised in the cover. Any one know what this was?

Sounds like the 12" single collection; a 4CD pirate release with the following tracklist:

Sexy Dancer, Let's Work, 1999, Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry, Purple Rain, I Would Die 4 U, Let's Go Crazy, Paisley Park, Raspberry Beret, Pop Life, America, Kiss, Mountains, Anotherloverholenyohead, Sign O The Times, U Got The Look, Housequake, Hot Thing, Alphabet Street, Glam Slam, I Wish U Heaven, Batdance, Partyman, Scandalous, Theives In The Temple, New Power Generation, Gett Off, Cream, Sexy Mf, My Name Is Prince, 7, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, Purple Medley

(Thanks Deane)

Yeah, I picked this up years ago. The discs are gold plated and it has a 12" x 12" full color book. A good source for 12" mixes. The packaging had to cost some dough to make. It's a 12" x 12" aluminum tin with an embossed symbol on top. Looks like something that would hold Prince's brownies.

Brownie edit...

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I think all bootlegs are limited pressing so, yes, it's 'deleted'.

Try record fairs and large 2nd hand stores.

I wanna cry. I bought both of these back in 1995 for a total of like $300. I lent them to someone who was putting together a Prince party at a local club, and never got them back. sad
