Then go to the record store and get some of his records from the 80s. Prince has moved on as he always has and as all great artists do. Miles Davis was the same way.

Leonard Horatio Kravitz kicks ass. Maybe Prince's career will pick up a little if he plays on Funk.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Who cares if Prince guest stars on 'Funk'?

and why is it everytime he performs with some mainstream pop act, ppl say...maybe his career will get a kick start again?

Prince's career never ended...he's released an album every single year since the time warner split, what kick start???
It never went anywhere or died, as long as you own atlease 5 of those records after warners, how can you say that prince's career needs to be kick started???

Prince is a genius musically and artistically, he is a cult figure...he has a great track record (20 years) in the mainstream...with various hits and multiplatinum lps to his name...he's scored an 'oscar, mtv, american, grammy, soultrain, world music, brit and naacp awards' he has been on countless, radio stations throughout the late 70's-80's and 90's...he has a large fanbase that will sell out Madison Square Garden, Tokyo Dome, Target Center and The Palace of Auburn hills-Michigan...This is an artist who will continue to impact us and a million others...Prince is known to his love ones and haters...he will always remain PRINCE, Indie or Mainstream...

Tons of artist(s) old and new will continue to respect and give him props for the inspiration...PRINCE may not have a #1 hit single or album in some time now, or have an impact on the radio...or mtv, but guess what, he'll maintain that in our hearts and minds alike...Prince will continue to release music at his own pace and entertain us at paisley park or via dvd, concert tours or internet!

Lets not get our hopes to high over something that we all should have learned by now, may not ever happen again!
I havent given up on his mainstream comeback or impact, but I'm tired of hoping he'll regain pop conscious...and become the Prince of Purple Rain again, it only lasted a year! Think about it, after having that successful movie and soundtrack, those who wanted to know his music and art, stayed along for the ride and here we are 20years later, still being treated with the goods from PRINCE!

I love being his fan and I can't waite to hear the next vocal prject whether its jazz, blues, gospel, or funk-rock...PRINCE IS THE BEST!!!

Let Lenny do his thang and Prince don't need any youngster trying to put him back on the map when he's already made his mark!!!

AMEN!

Would this collaboration really be a big deal? Prince has already worked with Lenny before. No offense to Lenny, but I can think of a dozen other artists that I'd rather see Prince work with.

This is such a true statement, along with other choice things in your post NPD313! I must say that I've enjoyed his work for a very long time now, and am not even trippin' per se on the idea of him trying to capture the attention of popular culture again -- he's still hittin'!
