That says what 20,000 NPGMC members? WOW, that's about 10 times the amount of members I tbought there would be. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Many members bought more than one copy so don't think there are 21,878 members. I'm firmly planted in denial

A lot of people have ordered more than one. That will have a big effect.
Still, pretty good. . | |

21,878 is the number of NPGMC members, NOT the number of pre-orders. I know this for a fact. In the NPGMC U Tell Us section you can search for members. * is a wildcard. If all you type into your search is * then you will get the results for all members usernames. Then with a little bit of code and text editor program knowledge you can figure out the number of members.

21,878 x $25 = $545,950
Not bad. I'm firmly planted in denial

Christ!
I am sincerely shocked. With no promotion, and only internet access, Prince has secured $25 x 21,878, that's half a million for fuck all but a fancy webdesign that I HOPE didn't cost more than 7 grand. That dude might not be as pigshit thick at business as I thought! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Make that 21,880 ...
... me (Detroit) and a Cindy from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. We have yet to order NEWS, but we will. And since she is not from the United States, even though she lives three miles from Detroit (just across the Detroit River), she doesn't want to pay those duty and shipping fees like what's happening to the overseas NPGMC members. So, I will be ordering at least two copies of NEWS -- and save on the outrageous shipping. Heck, you can fill an arena with those numbers. But I'm sure there are non members that don't really converse all that much on the NPGMC (like me). ... NEWS edit [This message was edited Thu Jun 26 7:47:11 PDT 2003 by a2grafix]

Right now there are 21912 usernames in the NPGMC database.
This database includes inactive usernames from previous years (at least last year), so the actual number of active/paying members is a percentage of 21912. "this especially prepared potato is called pomme de terre"

The number of members can be gotten in several ways from the forum database. Easiest way is to use the "search user" feature of the NPGMC orgnotes... then search for username : * This will give you a list of all users in the database ... view source, paste in favorite texteditor and count (I counted slashes). (thanks bfunk When looking at some of the usernames i noticed that many usernames are very similar, and, in case of a few people I know I noticed that both their names from last year as from this year are in there... hence the inactive users in the database, hence the actual number of active/paying members right now must be a percentage of the 21921+ members in the database. (other interesting stuff is also possible with the forum database btw, it can be made to cause errors and display the SQL queries... this often leads to new ways of accessing or modifying data) bfunk edit [This message was edited Thu Jun 26 3:45:15 PDT 2003 by m3taverse] "this especially prepared potato is called pomme de terre"
