Prince tells lies!!!

It's true. There are so many of his lyrics which simply aren't true. I've got a few examples here and I'm sure that other Orgers will be able to add more.

___

'Everybody's looking 4 the ladder...'

Well, I think that this is a major generalisation. I can't recall the last time I looked for a ladder, in fact I don't think that I ever have. And even if I did, it wouldn't be long before I found one, I know exactly where all the ladders are in our house.

___

'Ghettos 2 the left of us, flowers 2 the right...'

Hmmm, not where I'm sitting right now. To my right, there's a television with a Gamecube, Xbox and PS2 attached to it and to my left is a window where I can see my garden (mind you, there are flowers in there so Prince was half right with this lyric.

___

'I only want 2 see U laughing in the Purple Rain...'

Oh, come on Prince. You can't seriously tell me that you'd be totally happy if the only time you ever saw the person in question was when they were standing in a deluge of purple rain, laughing. You'd be desperate to rescue them from their wet insanity. Their entire life consisting only of laughing in the purple rain, not being able to eat, sleep or forge a relationship and never being able to come indoors to dry off. You'd seriously be happy if that's all you ever saw in your life?

___

'Just like the sun, The Rainbow Children rise...'

Now, when was the last time you saw a Rainbow Child rise up over the horizon in the East, hover over you all day giving you warmth and light and then set in spectacular fashion in the West?
___

'All U need is a good walk and a brand new position...'

What about water, food and oxygen?

___

'I can tear shit up y'all, that's my style...'

I'm sure Prince doesn't actually go around doing this.

___

So has anybody got any more examples?

"This is what it sounds like... when doves cry."

Now, in my 19 years on this earth I have NEVER seen a dove making sounds like the linn drum-machine.

And when was the last time you heard a dove crying? As far as I'm aware, they only ever cry when they're alone in their bedrooms. They generally try to keep a stiff upper lip whilst in the company of other doves.

One thing I always laughed about with "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise", is the fact that the sun does not rise. It remains relatively stationary while the earth moves. This makes the whole song a lie.

"My sister never made love to anyone else but me"

"Everybody's going Uptown"

"I'll never beat you I'll never lie. OOPS wrong part of the song! I mean "I'm not a woman I'm not a man"

Another lie is that.....

You must live down South. I am almost guaranteed at least one snowfall in April, and sometimes even in May.

Even at the centre of the fire, there is cold...
Not in any fires I have ever encountered there isn't.

She had so many devices, everything that money could buy.
Everything that money could buy. I don't think so now, do you? If she did, all the supermarkets would be empty for starters.

When 2 R in love - falling leaves will appear 2 them like slow motion rain.
What, small drop shaped and wet? It's not happening is it?

The evidence is indeed clear, Prince is a pathological liar. Maybe that is why he has started releasing instrumentals?

'race cars burn rubber in my pants' pah, when did you last see Shumaker drive a car that small, if he did he wouldn't be singing about the joy of it.

'there's joy in repetition' oh no there isn't , when was the last time you listened to a parrot, damn straight there was NO 'joy' there.

what a damn fine thread this is, please post this on the NPG forum.
