Even if Prince is ass, what does that have 2 do with the
music itself?? Music is a art form andJust like any drug, it can be a escapism from ur own reality. U can be whatever u want and I think what most artist gain in this gift, is the free ride of expression. I think we make the mistake all 2 often of relating someone personal lives with their work. This is the reason why alot of people are turned off by Jimi Hendrix. He has the reputation of being a druggie which at alot times this was not the case, Ol' Jimi was just high on his purple music, however. What they fail 2 realize or they just can not simply see, is the complete genius in his work and as artist u become a slightly different person from the midst of reality. Either way it goes, Prince is a genius. If he was the biggest jerk on earth, it wouldn’t blind me from looking at the talent he’s giving 2 the world in these past 25 yrs.Basically when it come 2 dealing with art, there’s 2 parts ……… The creator , Then the work itself and ur left with the decision 2 choose which one ur willing 2 believe.

Personally, I have 2 disagree with some of what Ur saying. I dont know any who is put off listening 2 Prince becuz of his personality traits. People either like his music or not. Neither do I agree that people R put off listening 2 Ur example, Jimmy Hendrix. It just seems a little churlish and ridiculous 2 imagine some1 saying, 'Oh Im not going 2 listen 2 Jimmy Hendrix cuz he was a druggie'.Even after all these years people R still listening 2 the Doors and Elvis Presley R they not?

I don't want to start a fight, but I happen to know alot of people who won't listen to prince because of his personality. They either used to be fans and stopped because of it or they never were because of it. I think it is stupid myself, I mean either you are talented or you aren't. And he is! I will never stop liking prince no matter how crazy he may seem to the outside world, but some people do take those kind of things into consideration. Look what happened to michael jackson after the baby-dangling incident.

exactly and this is the main reason why people r turned off by rap music, it doesn't matter how talented the rapper is (2pac 4 example ) all people can see is the street mentality which is the main reason why people don't listen 2 rap music in general ...
