Prince the hoax

hi,

Once when i was watching the lovesexy live video. During his solo on lets go crazy, Prince squats down not playing his guitar. Well, he misses his cue and the guitar kicks in again and the look of shock on his face is evident and he quickly continues to mime the continued solo. (this issue has been the debated before, Im just offering my opinion, not preaching. I felt robbed having witnessing that and my brain went into overdrive for a second. What i imagined was this;
Was Prince actually the creation of Warner Brothers? a Prince conspiracy whereby WB took this kid from the middle of nowhere and set out to make him the biggest musical star in the world. They would promote him as the teen who played everything , produced, wrote and composed all his own material with the ability to dance like a mother fucker. Do not get me wrong, i never for one second believed these thoughts to be true. Instead i regard it as a momments thought of fantasy. My brains way of dealing with princes phenomenal talents back in his 80's prime.

As well as his vast musical ability. His prolific work load and numerous musical styles could be attributed to a team of experienced industry 'in house' musicians. Furthermore the continual directional change from album to album i.e dirty mind to 1999) could have been regarded as the labels way of testing the water to find their most lucrative market.

Princes own silence and the gagging of former employee's was a tool in preventing the falsehood of WB's 'boy genius'.

However, I know that this conspiracy is highly flawed!!! Im not posting to say its true, far from it! I just wondered if anybody else has, like me, had a moment in their life whereby they, just for a second, believed the genius of prince to be a fabricated?

Dude chill.I'm absolutely convinced that alot of Prince's old live guitar stuff was'nt live.However their was a lot of choreography and moving around going on there,hard to concentrate on playing when youre doing all that.
but I'm sure the person who recorded the "live" guitar stuff was him.
He was also a control freak and wanted everything to sound perfect,so this propably had a lot to do with it.(Electric Chair from the SNL show was tottally lip synched)
Thers no dancing in the ONA shows and it's beautiful because you get to actually here him concentrating on playing the music.
I remember going to a NPS show and thinking the guitar work was rushed and sloppy because he was trying to dance and play live

LOL. Some of you here have taken my post to seriously. I myself was saying that i wasnt trying to promote the idea of a conspiracy. I am aware that the idea is ludicrus. Re-read the initial post. I said it was an idea that popped into my head for a second. It was a compliment to Princes abilities - i doubted for a second that one could be that good. I was asking if anybody else had had similar thoughts.

Nice story. Like the story that the real Paul McCartney died in a car accident.

Are you people born this dumb, or is it the medication?

Yes, you are right. Prince isn't even real, he's actually played by Tito Jackson!
