When was the last time you listened to Purple Rain the song?

I just don't really enjoy it any more, listening to it now, it's nice, but it has too many connotations with VH-1, and idiotic people who stumble upon the fact your a fan and mention this song.

It doesn't do much for me, in fact all the hits are tarnished in a similar way for me: 1999, Little Red Corvette, Kiss, Gett Off, Cream, MBGITW - I NEVER listen to these songs when I'm listening to Prince.

Blurgh!

I used it to test my speakers out last night - I thought there was something wrong with them, and that's one song I've heard so many times I will know exactly what's wrong when I hear it.

Listened to the album yesterday, then to Parade.

Today I listened to sign of the times and around the World in a day.

Been in a Prince mood since listening to NEWS.

I listened to it today. But it was a cover by a punk band.

I listened to the entire CD the other day in my car. I don't think I will ever get tired of Purple Rain.

I did forget just how great The Beautiful Ones is. I listened to that song 4 or 5 times in a row.

The beautiful ones always smash the picture
Always...everytime'

Its one of the greatest rock songs ever and it will always be around. I played the entire album last night. No serious rock collection is complete without this album. This is why is is considered to be one fo the greatest albums ever recorded.

Hmm..just the other day, Guitar Center played the whole CD in the store. It was interesting watching guitarists go from one guitar to another trying to play along and bobbing their heads. Cool Prince moment.

I still listen to it frequently. But it's the OG 8-3-83 uncut version with the extra verse and unedited solo. I haven't listened to the lp version since I discovered this version.

i havent listened to the album in a long time. Probably bout two years. i cant say that i particularly miss it. If i was to listen to a song from the album Purple rain would not be my choice. i'd rather listen to Baby I'm a star or Lets Go Crazy before Purple Rain.

I AM DYING FOR NEW FUNK.

I'm diggin' on all the live concert/video versions of "Purple Rain" more than the one on the album.

I think I have about 4 different versions now (Live '85, Livesexy '88, Rave In2 The Year 2000, Live from Paisley Park '96).

But that song is simply a classic - and I think the trick is to NOT listen to it so often...but every once in a great while...when the feeling takes you. And once you put it on, turn it up. cool

Very true. In this category I also put The Cross as songs I don't like to listen to too often so as to ever get tired of them. Unlikely as though that would be
