NEWS in a new light!

I'm a little stoned so I may read this post tomorrow and vomit my legs up, but it's a risk I'm willing to take right now cuz I'm now gettin that rainbows-growing--in-your-stomach feeling over the NEWS album.
Yes, I was disappointed. Yes, I felt bored. Yes, I wanted to wail like a mother sheep whose lambs have just been taken away for the cull.
Alas, it was immediately obvious that NEWS was not going to be the 'one' to prove to my social circle that I shouldn't be locked up for still loving the guy.
But...I've now actually tuned into it and - hold on to your patience kids - imagining what I would think of this music if there were vocals (not singing even, maybe gregorian chants, trio bulgarka, yodelled harmonies) to nail the colurs and melodys down to the subconcious.
Maybe I'm the dumbest guy ever to fall from Jah's womb, but just imagining the acclaim y'all would be giving this record of there were vocal layers on top is makin me giggle like a little girl. NEWS is so obviously a natural progression from the organic vibe of TRC.
Either he was so stung by the critisism of the TRC lyrics that this is a massive 'fuck you' to everyone or...the CD version will have full vocals over these four deeply involving tracks.
It's certainly not jazz (the structures have obviously been agreed before playing) and it's certainly not rock, funk, Kenny G, porno music, or any of the other barrage of witless dross I have been hearing.
Prince's music is now a mirror for his fans...it seems all the negativity against his new work says more about the person dissing than it does about their musical opinions.
I'm feelin a little quesy now and I think I go lye down now. The real me takes no responsability for the aforementioned comments. It was all the work o my evil absorbed fetus twin who talks to me when no one else will. It gets like that somwetimes. Balls waiting to be rolled down a hill. Like Cream eggs. Ate 10 of them once and haven;t felt the same ever since. Curly Wurlys too. And Pannini football stickers and Irn Bru bars. Made your teeeth orange but you wernt woried abut pulling back then anyway.

Just one question. Is that avatar a picture of you?
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Scared shirtless is not a good way to be Aero...

For someone so stoned this is perceptive stuff indeed

This won't absolve you from "responsibility". Either you mean what you say or you don't

Upon near-drowning in a downpour of Christ's tears, I have come to the conclusion that the cured leaves of the jimson weed will never enter my cardiovascular again.
Listen to the government, kids - it fucks you up. Read the fucking Bible and stay outta trouble.

"It's certainly not jazz (the structures have obviously been agreed before playing) . . . ."

Bird and Dizzy never sat down before the tape started rolling in the studio and agreed on chord changes, the order of their respective solos, what keys to play in, what the tempo would be, or how many bars each solo might last?

If that's the case, then I guess what they were playing wasn't jazz.

I think we can agree that NEWS isn't straight ahead or be-bop, but -- with the rare exception of some experimental stuff -- jazz is not without structure.
