I'm going to come to the defence of the Cream maxi-single. OK, so it's not groundbreaking music by any means, but I listened to it in the car over the weekend, and it's really fun loud music. It's a really interesting product, as all the songs sound like developments of the one before, until Ethereal Mix is not at all Cream-related - a dance instrumental which just kicks butt.
And listen to Get Some Solo and tell me that's not funky... Did anyone else create maxi-singles like this and New Power Generation? Not singles full of remixes of the main track, but developments and evolutions of the main track? I don't know of any others like this...
