Housequake and NPGMC are both a little uh, cerebal.

I visited both sites and it was like The Wizard Of Oz meets Heaven Gate.

"Here, put on these red Timberlands. Now have some Red Alize."

A few minutes later I heard a bunch of "little people" singing: "Where seldom is heard a discouraging word" Over and over again.

As a connesieur of Prince music and lyrics, my goal is not to be polite or "positive." It's to be honest, analytical, and sometimes just free and fun.

I don't consider myself a negative person. But I have been more critical of Prince's recent releases because I don't like them and I think a person with his talent can do better. Also, he used to be more spiritually free and inclusive nows he's accordioned his beliefs into a narrow religious system. That makes me sad. I talk about that here.

I do think he was better in another era, but I'm not stuck there. I'm willing to accept when he does something transcendent now. Hopefully he will soon.

Both sites have some nice people along with a lot of negativity and intolerance. The intolerance is just of different things.

At the NPGMC site, people are intolerant of intelligent debate, critisism of Prince, and basically just anything that doesn't contribute to the hazy purple fluffy vibe that they want to live within. . .not to mention having an overall sex-negative attitude.

Here, we are intolerant of fawning idolatry and people who won't engage in intelligent debate. . .not to mention having an overall sex-positive attitude.

Which is why, after giving it an honest go on those boards, I'm here and not there.
