Obviously NEWS is a collaborative effort...? i have the feeling Prince didn't write all the music in NEWS. it surely must be a collaborative effort and he has allowed song writing credit to the rest of the band.
if that is the case, then i bet that he will release a new album sooner rather than later. that would be a good thing. just make it fonky, Prince. | |

He needs to give his band a "vacation" and hit the studio on his own. Less is funkier. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

What gives you the feeling that the band receives songwriting credits on this album -- couldn't it also be just as likely that the musicians are treated as session players? I would've thought that XPECTATION was a collabortive effort more so than NEWS, but then the club launches and a good portion of the sounds of XPECTATION are featured in the club... Whatever the genus of this work turns out to be, I am glad to see that Prince is allowing himself the chance for further growth -- which I think is good for the music! La, la, la
