And on top of all that it's only ten dollars. This is so nice.

What a cool listen! I don't know what it would be classified as. I guess Prince is right when he simply says "new directions in music". I have already ordered it, though I know I'll be able to download it for free in a week or two. Who cares...

To my uttmost surprise:

- I downloaded the file and listened to it without any interruptions!!! It was around half a hour after availing the music (7:30 CET). I couldn't believe... Not only did the servers NOT crash, but it all went smoothly

- the price for the CD is very reasonable... $10

- the track is not exactly 14:00 minutes - this is for all those that were afraid that again Prince first set out a pattern which he tried to fulfill with disregad to artistic concerns - the exact time is 14:51

- the music is not something that nailed me to the floor but so far so good.

in other words, I am stunned - for the first time in my dealings with NPGMC (a member since Year 1) I found nothing to complain.

as to the sort of music that North represents - my real player shows "jazz" in genre column but I wouldn't be so sure... it's neither jazz nor rock (let alone pop or R&B). a mix of the two I think

Yeah, I know overseas fans have to pay a lot more.
My weak attempt at sarcasm was directed at those who see a conspiracy in every move Prince makes.

has anyone that signed up as a new member this year ordered the ona live 3cd set? i'm curious if it includes the piano album too.

last year's members received the piano cd as a 4th disc in the boxset (i believe) and i'm wondering if this is still happening.

i'm signing up to be a member on friday. the fact that news is a reasonable price, and that the dvd is coming out soon make it unfair to refer to yourself as still being an admirer of prince while not supporting him when he does things like this.

yeah, i could download the files off the internet, and have my friend burn a copy of the dvd... but as if anyone needed more proof than the photo in my profile, i believe in supporting prince when i know pretty much what i'll be getting in return. (even if he charges a lot more than he is... all i expect in return is to know pretty much what to expect for my money... i'm not rich... and i expect more than streaming music of previously released material and a moderated chatroom that i'd never enter. he's come through with the news cd & dvd. hopefully there will be enough interest that he'll also release "xpectation" on cd as well. he should realize that there are enough of us that would rather buy the cd directly. i've yet to personally burn ANY of the npgmc files that i've grabbed off of kazaa in the hopes that he'll do just this.)

it's nice to finally feel comfortable enough to join...

I'm happy he's going with CDs now rather than downloads.

Prince only releases 4 instrumental jams for 10$ plus 9$ shipping international.

Excuse my ignorance - I may have missed someone's thread - but how do you buy this? I've been to the Retail section and there's no sign of it. Are you able to buy it by clicking on the 'NEWS' signs in the foyer?

When you're in the N.E.W.S. room, there is a pile of cds on the table, click... click... click... click and CD is in the mail.
