Prince outtake of the day, Alphabet Street Blues.

You cannot get more gruff, or off the cuff than this. This is Prince basically fucking around, having fun being a musician. He beats at the acoustic guitar, almost seemingly trying to break it. Great blues strumming what seems like a slide, but with only his hands. His voice is really into it, but when he goes great like this, he usually pulls back, acts bored and stops tape. Hopefully one day this will be released in full stereo. He needs to keep doing stuff like this--if only he would. Always a fun listen, if not easy to listen too.

Great version. But the single was even better!

One of his most original songs ever, especially when you compare what was being released in the charts then.

It was like someone inventing a new genre on the spot. Thats the difference. The demo is a good blues track, the single was genius in its time.

That's a cool version indeed, but that "Thieves In The Temple" acoustic is truly amazing...

then you`ll like the version from the vegas gig if it makes the dvd, very similar except prince on bass,by himself for the first few verses then the band comes in,nice n slow, not like the uptempo version he usually plays.
