If You See Me(Do Yoself A Favor)-Which Version Do U Prefer? I personaly think that Pepe Willis' version is by far waaay much betta than Jesse Johnson & Prince's versions
While the song have that blusy groove(so to speak) in Pepe's version. Prince funked it up and made a party # out of it This is a bitter/sad song lol why does he sound happy in it? Reminds me of the same thang about "I Could Neva Take The Place Of Yo Man". So, what version do you prefer?

i've never heard pepe's version but i prefer prince's over jesse's. the whole bit at the end is just great. i guess the happiness in the song is like "yea, i don't love you anymore anyway. i'm over yo' ass!"

WTF, Prince actually re-wrote the entire song. His version is much, much better and artistically one of the best things he has ever done. The layered synth lines are fucking genius. Pepe Willie may have wrote the original, but this is a completely new song when P did it. He made it his. All you others say Hell Yea!!

I prefer the Jesse Johnson version, from his 1986 'Shockadelica' album. It's very similiar to the 1982 Prince version but it's nice and short, without all that extra dialogue that Prince included in his version.
The Pepe Willie version? It's interesting, but not as "tuneful" as the latter versions,as it lacks a strong melody. It's obvious that Prince is the one responsible for taking this song, shaping it,and giving it a more pop-ish,catchier melody. ...
