Carole Davis & Slow Love I was reading the liner notes in The Dream Factory bootleg's booklet. Susan said that "Slow Love" was about Carole Davis who actualy co-wrote the song with Prince who was in a love affair with Prince.
Who is this Miss Davis chic and when exactly did she have an affair with the brotha? Also, where's Susanah's position between all this? | |

carole davis is an actress and singer. had an album out in '89 called heart of gold on which she does slow love. she co-wrote the lyrics.
she is very pretty, glamorous with long straight hair. i saw her in the movie the rapture (w/ mimi rogers and the guy from x-files). ms davis had a large tattoo of a blue pearl all over her back. this was just for the movie, i'm sure. it had some sort of cultish significance. this was a terrible movie, by the way. interesting concept, but messy, poor execution. Back in the late '80's, early '90's, VHI had a live music show that was hosted by Nile Rodgers of Chic fame. He would perform with various guests - it was a cool concept. He did a cut with Nona Hendryx called "No Emotion" (if I remember correctly). Nile rocked out on guitar - he's known mainly as an awesome rhythm player, but he showed some lead chops that night. I know, I digress...
On one episode, Carol Davis was a special guest. She did some cuts from an album she had out at the time (don't remember the title). What I do remember, though, is that her voice left a lot to be desired. She was actually cracking a bit - it was more like a "talk-singing" type of thing, than real "sanging". She's very pretty with a lively personality, but her music wasn't that memorable. She's pretty and stylish though - she probably would've gotten in Studio 54 back in the day...
