i was listening to the sample in the NEWS Room tonight and, well, i guess, it's kinda interesting. if there's a predominately rock edge to this album then maybe i'll get into it. the sample provided sounds a bit like this Scottish band called Mogwai. they do atmospheric, heavy rock instrumentals and they are quite popular over on this side of the pond. if he wants to go into this direction i guess it could be interesting.
i bet Prince has the idea of doing a 'Miles Davis' - a concept album consisting of 4 songs that are really long, improv and with a running theme. the idea is kinda like Miles's album with all the tracks named after colours - can't remember the name of it.
BUT! if Prince is gonna do some weirdo jazz noodling then maybe i'm not gonna be that interested. if he had released TRC as an instrumental album, i probably would have liked it as well so i hope NEWS in kind of like that.
i'll let the music do the talking and from there i'll make up my mind.
