he was phenomenal!

i called Derringers yesterday (music shop) & aske dthem if they knew where it was being held.
WELL,it turned out they were sponsoring the whole gig!

it was in a tiny lil club in the city...the joint was packed! full of drummers mainly...tho newpowersoul (vince),myself & another were the only real P fans in the house i think.

the clinic went on for about 2 & 1/2 hours...he just kept on playing & playing & playing & talking & talking questions & playing & playing & talking & playing...

& i was front row (thanx again 4 saving my seat vince ur legend!...oh & Undertaker is sounding very find thru my stereo )

i got a heap of photos which,granted they turned out good...will b uploaded soon to http://groups.yahoo.com/g...wChildren/

i asked him what it was like making TheRainbowChildren with prince & he talked about that...syiang basically it was just he & Prince in the studio & how John basically came up with Everywhere...then P put music 2 it.

Vince tried 2 get John 2 play the Xenophobia solo but he made an excuse not2...basically impying that he is either sick of playing it,or it just tired him 2 much.
however he played a couple of seconds from the TRC title track... during one of his endless solos.

one guy even asked him: "r u some kind of alien? coz ur just a freak dude!"
a sentiment which everyone in the room felt also.

overall i had a fantastic night... it is the closest i will get 2the NPG & a Prince gig.
well,4 the time being anyway.

pity u missed out Adrian... but im sure it will b even sweeter when the rest of the NPG comes down here with that lil purple midget dude


if he is coming 2 your town still...on this world tour...
do NOT miss out on seeing him.
it was a very special night.
