Prince Brings the "N.E.W.S."

Four-song concept album due this week

Prince is in search of some direction on his new album. N.E.W.S., slated for release through his npgmusicclub.com site on June 19th, contains only four songs, "North," "East," "West" and "South," each clocking in at exactly fourteen minutes.
As always, Prince produced the album himself, and his site will offer a free preview of it to fan club members. The site is also offering members three clips from an upcoming live DVD, Prince Live at the Aladdin Las Vegas, which is due for release later this year.

N.E.W.S. is Prince's first album of new material since 2001's The Rainbow Children, another concept album originally released through his Web site.

The singer is the subject of a recent 280-page unauthorized biography, Possessed: The Rise and Fall of Prince, by lawyer-turned-author Alex Hahn, which features candid interviews from those close to the reclusive singer.

I guess he's not counting One Nite Alone or Xpectation, since they weren't in stores . . .

Nobody would ever count Xpectation, as it was download only, and One Nite Alone was in some stores. Oh wait, you were talking about the piano studio, nevermind.
