Information regarding "The War"

I've finally scored myself a copy of this from ebay and I am going to collect it now. When I get back, I want to see every bit of information about it posted here so I can listen and read about it at the same time! Thanks

The song was actually at least 20 minutes longer when it was being performed but thankfully Prince edited as it was some boring ass shit. I remember sitting at PP at like 6 in the morning wondering why the hell Prince was playing backstage.

Apparantly Prince doesn't feel it is normal, nor legally necessary to give credit to his bandmembers where credit is due.

There was an extensive post on this show when he played it at Paisley. It was written by someone in attendance that night/morning. Very detailed. I might have been the old .org though.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The War's kinda cool but not something I go 2 a lot. I think it was the JOTY band who played it so Mike Scott, Rhonda, Kirky J, Mr Hayes etc.He played it at the Hippodrome aftershow London 98.It really worked live. The hairs stood up on the back of your neck. The artwork was a picture of a woman giving birth 2 the world but don't know where U'd find it.

On the back of the cd there is a picture of the band and it also says:

Kirk A. Johnson - Drums
Marva King - Vox
Mr. Hayes - Keys and Programming
prince Lead vox, guitar solos, various keys, electraps and percussion
Mike Scott - wahwah guitar
Rhonda Smith - Bass

I scanned in the artwork for you Toejam. My only remaining copy is unopened so the scan didn't turn out the best, but you will get the idea.

These pictures are taking up a large chunk of my alloted space on ranchoweb so I will probably only leave them up for a few days so make sure you save the pics if you want them.
