3 Chains O' Gold Why on Earth did Prince steal Queen's style with this song? I really like the song. Its one of my favorites on the CD. I just don't understand why he blatantly ripped off another (very) famous song and band. | |

Around the time 3 Chains came out, Bohemian Rhapsody was
a huge hit again thanks to the Wane's World movie & a video combining (funny) Wane's World footage with original Queen video footage from the 70's. I thing Prince was trying to cash in a little on the Bohemian Rhapsody resugence. Please keep in mind that this is at the same time that Prince appeared on a cd single wearing (wince) a plad flannel vest -getting in on grunge? Are you saying 3 Chains O' Gold should not of been made because a very similar song had already been done. What's the point of that. I think 3 Chains O' Gold is great (I also think the same about Bohemian Rhapsody but that's neither here nor there) the point is I think 3 Chains O' Gold is great so what it sounds like dosn't matter. Bohemian Rhapsody is the biggest dirge ever written, probably one of the worst songs ever.Totally overrated.It's garbage and i hate it intensely.

I really like "Three Chains O Gold".I think it should have been the final song on the album,instead of following it up with the chaotic "Sacrifice Of Victor"."Three Chains..." sounds like the perfect finale to the whole rock soap opera.The 'Love Symbol' album is one of Prince's most adventuresome,most inspired and most exciting projects ever. I can imagine Prince watching TV one night, and Wayne's World comes on the tube...then Bohemian Rhapsody starts blaring from his speakers...and he says to himself, "...what's the big f*cking deal with this song? I can do that!" So in about 20 minutes he writes, arranges, produces, and performs a song just like it...but funkier.
