I have to defend myself here.....

OK.
I’m feeling the need to defend myself here (can I really be that bothered? Yes cuz bad vibes create more bad vibes).
Lately I have been down on the whole instrumental direction that Prince has taken up. Now, let’s get this right: I love Prince’s music. I have been an avid fan since 1988 and I have never let up on being into the man’s music.
Now, having said that, lately I have not liked his new direction, which I realize could just be a temporary thing. New direction being the instrumentals. He may end up releasing another new album this year for all I know; he released three albums last year which I was not crazy about but it’s all the same – it’s Prince so I will support him anyway. I loved TRC the minute I listened to it and I was hoping he would continue in that musical vein but he didn’t which is fine. He can do whatever he wants: he has innovated for so long that I understand if his creativity changes into new ideas. Unfortunately, I think Prince fans always want him to do what they want to hear – I think that might be a problem with a person massively creative as him.
I will also admit that having read Possessed it has left me with a less than favourable image of Prince. I admit that that book actually clouded my judgement of the man. But wait up there’s more. Since reading that book, I have read other information that contradicts some things in Possessed. I also felt that the book had a negative view of P. It failed to mention P’s charity work in greater terms.

I posted a few negative comments about Prince on the Org lately as well. I cannot apologize for that. It is the way I feel. Just like it is the way Prince feels he must explore his new direction. I will apologize to Finess and I think it was NewDawn if I offended them. I had no intention of upsetting anyone. I, too, defend Prince outside of the Org with just as much passion as anyone else who might feel he gets a bum deal.
When NEWS comes out I will get it and I will listen to it. I may not end up liking it, I might just (the sample I have heard in The Vault is not too exciting but at least it’s not the Kamasutra).
I hope we can start over and keep celebrating Prince’s music for what it is and in whatever form he may present it in.

i don't always agree with what you're saying but man, you don't need to defend yourself to anybody! its all good...you like some of prince's stuff and you don't like some of prince's stuff. if peeps can't handle an opinion other than their own, well, they shouldn't be on a message board! i'm not calling anyone out because i think we all do it from time to time. i just hope you don't ever feel the need to give some sort of apology again for your take on the purple music. you can bet your ass prince would not be apologizing to anyone on here for anything he's said or done.
