Prince just doesn't give a crap anymore i mean, he's not even bothering singing to anymore.
i hope this is just a phase like in three years he's tired of the JWs asking him for money (or more like "that wasn't in the agreement" or "any money to paid was not authorized by me!" hopefully he sends them packing. let's all pray, let's all pray. | |

I don't give a crap anymore either...never joined the NPGMC, because it may be his music with which he can do as he pleases, but since I find it boring I don't spend my money on it. Don't like it, don't keep supporting it. It's that simple. | |

in fact, he's gonna give us more of it on the 19th.  
actually though, i'm looking forward to it... i prefer his instrumental stuff anyways (you remember, the aftershows where he used to play 10 minute songs and only 2 or 3 minutes were singing... the rest of the song was just a jam...) | |

It makes it seem like you KNOW for a fact that he don't give a crap anymore when we really don't know that at all! He's just doing something different at the moment that you don't particularly care for...so what. I'm sure if your thread read "Why no singing" or "what's up with the instrumentals" or something to that effect with the questioned posed as to why he maybe going in such a direction open for discussion you wouldn't have gotten such a response from finess or me for that matter. well, Shorty, if you had read my response to Finess then you would have probably understood. and i don't think i was confrontational. i'm just expressing a view. my view. if anything, Finess was being confrontational, i was just making a statement but that's ok. we just having a debate, a disagreement, whatever it is. it happens.
we all still love Prince's music, even if some of us don't enjoy the new direction. | |

i think prince cares a lot more about himself now than ever before. in the past he's wowed us because he was trying to. that was his goal. he wanted his ego boosted and in order to do that he needed us (the public) to be all about him. well, he's older now and more mature. his needs have changed. now he needs to do what he feels is riht for him. i don't think its too cool to assume we know what an artist is going through in his/her life. Prince's work reflects where he is right now. maybe he doesn't have anything to say because most of his "fans" have been bitching about the "preaching" in his lyrics. you know, its a no win situation for the guy. if he says what's on his mind everyone jumps on his case for the words. if he doesn't say anything people jump on his case for being disinterested...give the guy a break. he doesn't owe us anything, we choose to give him our attention. | |

I agree to the extent that perhaps Prince is so frustrated with trying to be faithful to his new beliefs on one hand and hearing a lot of listeners like me complain about the lyrical content in his new music that he said, "bump it, I'm just not gonna sing anything." Kamasutra was just thrown in with Crystal Ball. Xepctations & CNOTE were downloads. N.E.W.S. will be the first instrumental cd that is a stand alone cd. I would be surprised if there will be any vocals. This is Prince free from record company restraints demonstrating anything goes. | |
