3 Prince songs in VH1 Top100 of the last 25 years 7) When Doves Cry
14) Nothing Compares 2 U 23) Little Red Corvette As always there's plenty to agree and disagree with in the list (Like a Virgin at no.10 ??!) but it's good to know that P hasn't entirely been forgotten.

Eminem in the top 10? Number 4 no less!?! It seems most of the songs have stood the test of time. Can a song less than a year old be a classic song? It hasn't shown how well it has worn.
I definitely disagree with this song. Please edit and replace with "Purple Rain." [This message was edited Wed Jun 11 6:23:00 PDT 2003 by crazymf]

The list is a joke. I mean I love Nirvana and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is a great song, but the best of the past 25 years? I just don't get it. Nirvana had better songs than that. Heart Shaped Box anyone? The list should be called the Top 100 HITS.
I agree with Howard Stern that Purple Rain should be #1 (of course I am just a tad biased). Also Sign o The Times should be on there somewhere.

By the way, from every perspective (esp. romantic, and spiritual) there can only be one number 1: And I am not joking

a group of people who dig music got together and compiled a list of what they felt were the most important songs over the past 25 years. Prince is probabbly one of the very few people on that list to get 3 songs of his included. And Fams are still sulking because he's not #1.
